Equally based on the same Linux platform and database architecture, these are the Oasis PMS software series:
Oasis Hotel All-In-One This is an innovative and practical solution specially packaged for independent hotels and budget hotel chains without I.T. support on-site. This is designed with less sophisticated hotel features and preloaded within a Linux server or dual sever as hot backup to ensure highest availability.
It requires only three steps from installation to live operation:
(a) connect to Internet,
(b) update rates and employees through remote access, and
(c) trial run ready.
On-site training can be done away with entirely, thanks to this package’s ease of use.
Oasis PMS Enterprise
This is the enterprise version, with the full features of PMS software plus comprehensive interface options, from door locks to HSIA, and from POS to CRS interface. More Oasis software modules are available as options: Oasis Anywhere (supporting iPhone and Blackberry)
The Oasis PMS ASP solution is a proven Central Hosted system running in a cluster of Linux servers located in a data centre. These in turn connect to each hotel site via leased line, like MPLS or VPN, over the Internet.
On the individual hotel level, there is no Oasis software required because the Oasis ASP uses 100% browser-based thin client operation, and minimal bandwidth is required for PMS operation. Interface with other local hotel systems such as PABX call accounting, Internet and door locks is connected through TCP/IP sockets directly through the Intranet. If any of the above systems require a serial connection, we can configure a MOXA serial-Ethernet converter in the hotel to convert the serial signal back to Ethernet then back to the Central Host. No interface PC hardware is ever required, and local maintenance work is substantially simplified.
We understand that most limited serviced hotels have a small restaurant for the hotel guests for breakfast and simple meals, in addition to the vending machines. To maintain the zero on-site software design, we offer the Oasis POS ASP, which also runs as a browser-based POS. It can run in touchscreen POS terminals or PCs, allowing a mouse-based interface with full POS functions, such as Epson TM guest check and kitchen printer printing, while the cash drawer is connected to the guest check printer.
One of our latest POS enhancements allows for the sending of kitchen orders directly to either Epson or Star kitchen printers with Ethernet cards. Neither a POS server nor a MOXA serial-Ethernet converter is now required. The Oasis POS ASP is now a 100% Ethernet-based system.
This Oasis ASP system’s operating model is an effective one, with a ratio of one hotel to one VM (virtual machine) in the Linux clusters. Each hotel is independently installed and operates without sharing its resources with any other hotel for its database or configuration. This allows for efficient modular mobility, where a hotel VM can be readily moved among servers to resolve potential speed and upgrade issues.
For example, when one hotel’s response time suffers because of other hotels sharing the same hardware (thus draining a lot of computing resources), we can easily move the affected hotels VM to a new server with a higher configuration or fewer hotels sharing the core resources. Performance improvements are immediately noticeable. This modular arrangement also makes easy upgrades possible through the outright addition of more hardware Linux servers. There is no need to migrate the whole system to another powerful central server (an extended, tedious and time-consuming process) when more hotels need to be added.
This modularity is the most critical difference between a single database and centralized databases when running ASP. Our consultants can readily provide you with more details as needed.
